A recent survey shows that most Australians are retiring well below their expectations. While most people hope that they can transition from their current income or at least close to it, only a few percent ever manage this.
While superannuation and the pension are a helping hand, it has been found that the majority of Australians do not have enough superannuation to sustain themselves through a period of retirement greater than ten years.
Unless a person has a solid investment plan in place on top of their superannuation, statistics show that it is highly unlikely they will retire on an income which is comfortable for them.
