QLD rents to rise rapidly in wake of floods

The Residential Tenancies Authority has advised that QLD rents have been on the rise for some time now. A lot of Property investment advisors are now wondering what sort of affect the recent QLD floods will have on rents.

After the 2011 floods, rental vacancies fell substantially with stock on the market depleted.  This in turn caused an increase in rental yields. Only time will tell whether cyclone Oswald’s damage will have the same effect.
